  • Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
  • Start: Thu, 03 Oct 2024 23:12:00 +0000
  • Source:
  • Region:
  • Note: Narrow CME first seen in the NE by SOHO LASCO C2 beginning at 2024-10-03T23:12Z, as well as by SOHO LASCO C3 and STEREO A COR2 in later frames. There is no clear source seen on the disk for this eruption, however faint field line movement can be seen along the NE limb in SDO AIA 171 and GOES SUVI 195 beginning at approximately 03/22:30Z.

  • Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
  • Start: Thu, 03 Oct 2024 22:12:00 +0000
  • Source: N35E50
  • Region:
  • Note: Narrow, faint CME first seen in the NE by SOHO LASCO C2 beginning at 2024-10-03T22:12Z, as well as by SOHO LASCO C3 and STEREO A COR2 in later frames. The source of this CME is a minor filament eruption beginning at approximately 03/20:30Z centered at N35E50 as seen in SDO AIA 171 and 304, although the CME itself appears to be deflected towards the North. Minor field line opening is also visible in SDO AIA 171 and 193 as a result of this eruption.

  • Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
  • Start: Thu, 03 Oct 2024 20:36:00 +0000
  • Source: S10W48
  • Region: 13844
  • Note: CME with an auriform presentation in both the outline of its bulk and shock, seen to the west in SOHO. Associated with a strong eruption from AR3844 near S10W50 following an M6.7-class flare; an EUV wave is seen in SDO 193 and GOES 284.

2024-10-03T13:27:00-CME-001

  • Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
  • Start: Thu, 03 Oct 2024 13:27:00 +0000
  • Source: N30E60
  • Region:
  • Note: Large loop CME seen to the NE in SOHO/STEREO A embedded in outflow of halo CME: 2024-10-03T12:48Z. Associated with a filament eruption/snapping of magnetic field lines and surge seen best in SDO/GOES 304 and SDO 171 near N30E60; the signature in 171 is particularly clear, as there is widely opening field line movement off the northeast limb.

2024-10-03T13:26:00-CME-001

  • Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
  • Start: Thu, 03 Oct 2024 13:26:00 +0000
  • Source: N25W52
  • Region:
  • Note: CME seen to the NW within the outflow of the halo CME: 2024-10-03T12:48Z associated with a filament eruption lifting off near N25W52 or so seen best in SDO/GOES 304. The CME is not seen in STEREO A well, due to poor image quality and a data gap.

2024-10-03T12:48:00-CME-001

  • Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
  • Start: Thu, 03 Oct 2024 12:48:00 +0000
  • Source: S15W05
  • Region: 13842
  • Note: Full halo CME observed in SOHO LASCO, and full halo directed slightly more eastward in STEREO COR2A. The source is an X9.0 flare from AR 3842 observed in many wavelengths but mainly SDO AIA 131, starting at 2024-10-03T12:08Z and peaking at T12:18Z. Also observed as an EUV wave and dimming in SDO AIA 171/193 and GOES SUVI 284, with surface brightening in SDO AIA 304.
