  • Source:
  • Region:
  • Note: Faint CME visible to the SE in SOHO LASCO C2/C3 and STEREO A COR2. There are 2 candidate sources: the first is an eruption seen beyond the SE limb in SDO AIA 171/193 and GOES SUVI 283 around 2024-06-20T22:00Z. Shortly after these opening field lines, there was an M5.7 flare peaking at 2024-06-20T23:16Z from AR 3719 (approximately S16E55). However, based on analysis of SDO AIA and GOES SUVI imagery, it is believed that there was not a significant eruption associated with this flare, and field line movement is attributed to activity beyond the east limb. The candidate east limb source eruption is not clearly visible in STEREO A EUV imagery.

      • Half Width: 28.0000
      • Speed: 399.0000
      • Type: S
      • Note: Measurement based on best fit between SOHO LASCO C2/C3 and STEREO A COR2 in SWPC_CAT, taking into account potential source eruption beyond east limb. Due to the uncertainty of this measurement, due to lack of visible source location on disk, the longitude may vary by approximately +/- 10 degrees.

  • Note: Faint, narrow CME visible to the NE in SOHO LASCO C2/C3 and STEREO A COR2. The source is likely beyond the east limb. Field line movement and brightening loops can be seen in SDO AIA 193 around 2024-06-20T18:04Z. An additional candidate source beyond the east limb is seen as material departing beyond the east limb in GOES SUVI 304 at 2024-06-20T19:08Z.

  • Note: Faint, narrow CME visible to the east in SOHO LASCO C2/C3. It is not clearly visible in STEREO A COR2 due to its faintness. The source is unclear, but there are signs of moving field lines visible in SDO AIA 193 prior to the eruption from AR 3719 (approx. S14E50).

  • Note: A faint CME with no bright front in SOHO LASCO C2 (the front looks like a dark loop in C2 but is brighter in C3 and in STEREO A COR2. Coronal signatures are not very clear. The clearest indication of the source of this CME is a faint movement/opening of field lines in EUVI A 195 near the SE limb, close to AR 3719 (S12E60) after 2024-06-20T12:05Z, followed by minor post-eruptive arcades near this Active Region. In AIA 193 there is some minor activity in AR 3719 seen as well: after 2024-06-20T11:24Z we can see minor post-eruptive arcades forming in this area.

  • Note: A narrow CME in the northeast seen in both coronagraphs. Its source is most likely the faint opening of field lines behind the NE limb and the post-eruptive arcades peaking from behind the limb seen in AIA 193 starting after 2024-06-20T12:40Z. There is also a very faint ejecta seen (likely behind the limb) in GOES SUVI in the northeast starting at 2024-06-20T13:04Z. There is a very faint front (which could be the shock) preceding a brighter following front, which could be the bulk (or the core) of the CME.

10. CONTROLS FOR DO-NOT-TRACK FEATURES

Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems and mobile applications include a Do-Not-Track ("DNT") feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. At this stage no uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been finalized. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online. If a standard for online tracking is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will inform you about that practice in a revised version of this privacy notice.
