2025-02-02T14:36:00-CME-001

  • Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
  • Start: Sun, 02 Feb 2025 14:36:00 +0000
  • Source: N20E03
  • Region: 13977
  • Note: This CME is visible to the north/northeast in SOHO LASCO C2/C3 and STEREO A COR2 imagery. The source is likely associated with an eruption and M5.1 flare from Active Region 13977 (N20E03) starting around 2025-02-02T14:00Z which deflects to the northeast as seen in SDO AIA 131, 171, 193, 304 and GOES SUVI 171, 195, 284, 304 imagery.

  • Start: Sun, 02 Feb 2025 12:38:00 +0000
  • Source:
  • Region:
  • Note: This event is visible to the west/northwest in STEREO A COR2, but is it not observed in SOHO LASCO C2/C3 imagery. The source is likely far-sided as there are no corresponding signatures on the Earth-facing disk around the time of this event. There is an eruption visible beyond the southwest limb in STEREO A EUVI 304 imagery starting around 2025-02-02T10:15Z and again around 13:15Z, but both of these eruptions appear too far south to be associated with this event.

  • Start: Sun, 02 Feb 2025 05:48:00 +0000
  • Source:
  • Region:
  • Note: This CME is visible as a far-sided halo directed towards the south/southwest in SOHO LASCO C2/C3 and STEREO A COR2 imagery. The source is likely far-sided, with a fast opening of field lines visible over the southwest limb in SDO AIA 171, 193 and GOES SUVI 284 imagery starting around 2025-02-02T05:38Z. Eruptive material is also visible over/beyond the southwest limb starting around 2025-02-02T06:00Z as seen in SDO AIA 304 and GOES SUVI 304 imagery. It is possible this event is associated with former Active Region 13961, which was located approximately around longitude 170-175 degrees at the time of this event.

  • Region:
  • Note: Minor, faint loop appearing to the west-northwest in SOHO LASCO imagery following behind the outflow of CME: 2025-02-01T14:24Z to the west. Likely associated with a far-sided eruption as evidenced by moving field lines seen off the northwest limb best in GOES 284.
