2025-04-14T23:12:00-CME-001

  • Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
  • Start: Mon, 14 Apr 2025 23:12:00 +0000
  • Source:
  • Region:
  • Note: This event is visible to the southwest in SOHO LASCO C2/C3, and is not observed in STEREO A COR2 imagery due to a data gap. The source is likely related to an eruption from S35W85 starting around 2025-04-14T22:30Z as seen in SDO AIA 131, 171, 193, 304 imagery.

  • Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
  • Start: Mon, 14 Apr 2025 22:36:00 +0000
  • Source:
  • Region:
  • Note: This CME is visible to the south in SOHO LASCO C2/C3 imagery and to the southwest in STEREO A COR2 imagery. The source is likely far-sided as there are no source signatures visible on the Earth-facing disk at the time of this event.

  • Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
  • Start: Mon, 14 Apr 2025 19:00:00 +0000
  • Source:
  • Region:
  • Note: CME first visible to the E in SOHO LASCO C2 starting at 2025-04-14T19:00Z. This CME is very diffuse in white light imagery and is easier to see in running difference imagery. The source of this CME is most likely an eruption near the E limb best seen in SDO AIA 304 starting at 2025-04-14T18:19Z.

  • Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
  • Start: Mon, 14 Apr 2025 18:12:00 +0000
  • Source:
  • Region:
  • Note: CME first visible to the S in SOHO LASCO C2 starting at 2025-04-14T18:12Z in white light. CME is visible starting a few frames earlier at 2025-04-14T17:36Z in running difference imagery. This CME is also seen to the S in SOHO LASCO C3 but is partially obscured by the pylon. The source of this CME is possibly far-sided. There is not a good source candidate on the Earth-facing disk, but there is some very faint field line movement from on or beyond the S limb best seen in SDO AIA 171 beginning around 2025-04-14T15:42Z. The faint field line movement can also be seen in GOES SUVI 284. Another less likely source candidate is some minor movement starting around 2025-04-14T16:39Z best seen in SDO AIA 193 about S20E10.

  • Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
  • Start: Mon, 14 Apr 2025 15:24:00 +0000
  • Source:
  • Region:
  • Note: This CME is visible to the southeast in SOHO LASCO C2/C3 and STEREO A COR2 imagery. The source is likely related to an eruption on the southeast limb starting around 2025-04-14T14:30Z as seen in SDO AIA 131, 171, 193 and 304 imagery. A subsequent opening of field lines can be observed over the southeast limb around this time in SDO AIA 171 and 193 imagery as well.

  • Source:
  • Region:
  • Note: A bright, relatively narrow high southern latitude CME along a streamer to SSW in both coronagraphs. The CME source is the wide opening/movement of field lines on/behind southwest limb starting ~2025-04-14T14:24Z, as seen in SDO AIA 171/193 and GOES SUVI 284/304.
