2025-01-25T17:36:00-CME-001

  • Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
  • Start: Sat, 25 Jan 2025 17:36:00 +0000
  • Source: S12W80
  • Region: 13961
  • Note: CME seen to the SW in SOHO LASCO C2/C3 and STEREO A COR2. Only two frames of this CME were captured by STEREO A COR2, due to a data gap starting at 2025-01-25T18:23Z.

  • Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
  • Start: Sat, 25 Jan 2025 08:00:00 +0000
  • Source: S10W66
  • Region: 13961
  • Note: This CME is faintly seen to the NW overlapping a streamer in SOHO LASCO C2 and C3 imagery. It is difficult to see in STEREO A COR2 white light imagery, but slightly more easy to see in difference imagery. There isn't a clear source, although there are moving/opening field lines visible in GOES SUVI 284 along the NW limb starting around 25/07:37Z and some filament ejecta from AR13961 deflected northward as seen in GOES SUVI 304 around 25/07:25Z.

  • Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
  • Start: Sat, 25 Jan 2025 03:36:00 +0000
  • Source: S10W64
  • Region: 13961
  • Note: Loop CME to the SW in SOHO LASCO C2/C3 and STEREO A COR2. This CME appears much more diffuse in STEREO A COR2 imagery. Source is likely a small eruption near Active Region 13961 and moving/opening field lines with southern deflection seen on the SW limb that appear to trace back to Active Region 13961.

  • Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
  • Start: Fri, 24 Jan 2025 23:24:00 +0000
  • Source: S10W60
  • Region: 13961
  • Note: Faint CME seen to the SW in SOHO LASCO C2 only - this CME fades after a few frames and is overlapped by further activity from AR 13961. This particular front does not have a directly observed eruptive signature, but is visually similar to other fronts that did have connected signatures in SDO AIA 171/193 from AR 13961 throughout 2025-01-24.

  • Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
  • Start: Fri, 24 Jan 2025 21:24:00 +0000
  • Source: S05W70
  • Region: 13961
  • Note: Faint CME seen to the NW in SOHO LASCO C2 only - this CME fades after a few frames and is overlapped by further activity from AR 13961. Furthermore, it is only visible in running difference imagery, as a bright streamer hides this front in white light imagery. However it has a clear source, as the M2.7 class flare from AR 13961 best seen in SDO AIA 131, with field line movement in SDO AIA 171/193/211 and filament ejecta in SDO AIA 304.

  • Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
  • Start: Fri, 24 Jan 2025 21:00:00 +0000
  • Source:
  • Region:
  • Note: CME seen to the ESE in SOHO LASCO C2/C3. No distinct source for this CME is observed but it could likely be outflow from wide, bright CME 2025-01-24T12:24Z which was analyzed far-sided to S42E109. As part of this outflowing material to the SE, some material can be seen in SOHO LASCO C2 at 2025-01-24T19:24Z moving in this same direction, but the material at 2025-01-24T21:00Z moves faster and catches up/overlaps that in C3 to form one, bright trackable front.
